Onion Powder

Ok, I’m not gonna lie y’all. This is the same exact process as garlic powder. Just use your onion as usual and instead of composting or tossing your onion ends and peels, just dehydrate, grind and use.


Onion Powder

peels and ends of as many onions as you’d like


  • Put ends and peels on dehydrator rack (can use silicone rack cover).

  • Turn temperature to 165°; turn time to 8 hrs.

  • Press start.

  • After peels/ends have dehydrated, put them in your herb grinder or food processor. Grind until desired consistency.


That’s it. And you don’t have to rush after they’ve dehydrated.


The one on the left is store bought, right is homemade. You can see the difference:

This is from the peel and ends of ONE onion….a whole jar of garlic powder.
