Bacon Cheese Grits
Serving Size : 6
Prep time: 20 mins; Cook time: 20 minutes
2 c milk
2 c water
garlic powder
salt & pepper
Cajun seasoning
1 c grits
bacon grease
1 c cheese, shredded
crumbled bacon
½ c heavy cream, havarti, marscapone OR cream cheese
Prep:
-shred cheese
-fry, drain and crumble bacon
- Put milk and water in large pot on High to boil. 
- As mixture starts slowly boiling, add garlic powder, salt, pepper and Cajun seasoning; stir. 
- When mixture comes to a rolling boil; add grits. 
- Bring to a second boil; reduce heat to medium. 
- Add bacon grease; mix well. 
- Put lid on pot; cook 15-20 more minutes, stirring occasionally. 
- Add in cheese, bacon crumbles and heavy cream; mix well. Serve. 
⭐️ Can substitute or add in addition to heavy cream: havarti, marscapone, cream cheese.
